Aled Jones hits the top of the charts yet again as his brand new album ‘One Voice – Full Circle’, released last week via Decca Records in association with Classic FM, takes the No.1 spot in the Official UK Classical Albums Chart.

Aled is now entering his fifth decade of showbusiness – having released his first album 40 years ago, in 1983, at just 13 years old – making chart history on the way. As a choirboy he was one of the first musicians to bring classical music to the mainstream and into the homes of the general public. He conquered the charts before some of the biggest names in classical music, such as Nigel Kennedy and Pavarotti, who didn’t make an appearance until several years later. Over 40 albums and ten million album sales later, Aled has continued his success into adulthood.

Chief Executive of the Official Charts Company, Martin Talbot, comments: “What a remarkable achievement by Aled Jones to be continuing to chalk up new Official Number 1s in his fifth decade as a recording artist – and especially so, in the week that The Beatles have released an historic new/old recording, to have done so with an album of newly rediscovered recordings. Congratulations Aled!”

Jones’ newly chart-topping album sees the singer duet with his younger self on tracks recently unearthed at his parents’ house in Anglesey. These tracks had never been released or even heard since they were originally broadcast on a BBC series he made four decades ago – until now. The hit record also features his biggest-selling single, and one of the most-played tunes at Christmas time, ‘Walking in the Air’, here arranged for solo piano and played by the man himself.

Aled Jones says of this monumental moment in his career, “It’s been such a joy to duet and relive my past with little Aled. I’d like to thank everyone for buying the album and for putting me and the little one back at the top of the chart. I never take all this for granted – I’ve been so fortunate to make records all my life and it’s always such a brilliant feeling knowing everyone likes the music. I’m full of gratitude and love, and can’t quite believe I have now had more than 20 Number 1 records!”

The vocalist and broadcaster will bring his No.1 album to life with his 2024 ‘Full Circle’ tour across the UK, inviting his adoring audience to join him as he looks back over a remarkable musical journey so far.
