Hundreds of toys from Amazon’s Top Ten Toys list have been donated to Cwtch Mawr Multibank by the Amazon toy train to spread some festive cheer in the run up to Christmas.

Cwtch Mawr Multibank is part of The Multibank charity initiative – which was founded by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Amazon in 2022 – and seeks to meet the needs of families and individuals living in poverty. To date, the Multibank initiative has donated more than three million essential goods to help over 400,000 families, and currently operates in Scotland, Greater Manchester and Wales.

The toys were delivered to Cwtch Mawr Multibank via a life-size toy train, bringing festive cheer to the staff and locals. The toys will then be distributed to families in need between now and Christmas. As well as pulling into station at Cwtch Mawr Multibank, the Amazon toy train has already visited Felix’s Multibank in London and Brick-by-Brick Multibank in Wigan and is on track to reach other charities including The Big House Multibank in Scotland.

Cherrie Bija, Faith in Families CEO said: “Children all across our communities believe in the magic of Christmas, but financial pressures at this time of year are immense for so many in our communities. That is why initiatives such as The Multibank are so needed. The Cwtch Mawr Multibank is a true collaboration of compassion and kindness, and with the help of Amazon, we are able to extend our offer to include toys that are on top of children’s wish lists this Christmas. We aim to spread festive joy and provide a magical Christmas for families, ensuring that our children feel cared for and deserving of the joy of the season.”

The toys that have been donated include iconic franchises and family favourite brands, such as Hasbro’s Play-Doh Pizza Delivery Scooter Playset and the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer Starship Building Toy, as well as other popular toys such as Asmodee’s Taco Cat card game, and Snackles surprise plushies by Zuru. Each charity will receive multiples of each toy from the list to help more children and families discover the joy of toys this festive season.

Amazon’s Top Ten Toys list offers a wide selection of quality products suited to children three years and over, with products starting from £9.99. Customers can shop this year’s hand-picked toys plus many more on Amazon to find the perfect gift, with fast, convenient delivery in the lead up to Christmas.
