The 37-year-old from Northampton was arrested in November last year while visiting the city to take part in a rugby match on Saturday, November 4.
In the week leading up to this game, Ratuniyarawa went to the Revolution bar on Castle Street on three consecutive nights.
While there he sexually assaulted three women who were not known to one another, and none knew the defendant personally.
CCTV footage from inside the premises captured Ratuniyarawa’s offending, and he later pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault.
He was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, January 9, to two years and 10 months in prison, and will be a registered sex offender for 10 years.
Officer in the case Detective Constable Seren West, from South Wales Police, said:
“The victims have shown incredible strength and courage to come forward and support the investigation. They provided statements and bravely described in detail how they have been affected both physically and mentally by what happened.
“We hope that sentencing brings them some sense of closure and allows the women to regain their confidence.
“Tackling violence against women and girls is a priority for South Wales Police. We take all reports of sexual assault seriously and urge victims to come forward.”
