An appeal on BBC One’s Crimewatch Live has asked for the public’s help in locating a teenager who went missing in Neath Port Talbot in 2002.

Fifteen-year-old Robert Williams left his home in Resolven, Neath, almost exactly 23 years ago.

His mum, Cheryl, has not seen him since.

“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him,” Cheryl told Crimewatch Live, who last week broadcast a fresh appeal for information to try and find Robert.

“I know somebody out there knows something. Somebody was the last person to see my son alive. So all we want as a family is to fetch him home and I want to lay my son to rest, like any other parent would.”

Speaking to the same BBC show, DI David Butt said:

“The last 23 years have been a nightmare for Robert’s family. They deserve answers and the community of Resolven deserves answers. The intention of myself and the investigation team is to find him and return him to his family as soon as possible.”

DI Butt said he’s particularly like to hear from anybody present at a party at a house in Aberdulais on Saturday, March 23, 2002, into Sunday, March 24, 2002, at which Robert was present.

If you know anything or have the smallest piece of information, however insignificant it may seem, in relation to Robert’s whereabouts, please get in touch.

Detectives would still like to hear from anyone who has information that may assist their enquiries – contact can be made via this link: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/62WH020310C96-PO1

To give information anonymously please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via
    https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/pre-form, quoting occurrence number 2300271756.
