Experiencing nature’s wonder this autumn is being made even easier thanks to WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre, which hosts its popular ‘Walk with a Warden’ guided tour on September 21. The walk, which lasts around 90 minutes, is led by a WWT expert, and will take visitors around the 456-acre nature reserve sharing some of the new season’s show-stopping highlights. Wales’ pioneering sustainability law has inspired newly proposed legislation in an Indian state of around 114m people. A new private members’ bill – called the Maharashtra Future Generations Welfare Bill – has been introduced to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Based on Wales’ Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, the new bill proposes a Commissionerate of Future Generations to ensure government departments follow sustainable goals. In terms of population, the Maharashtra state is almost 40 times bigger than Wales. On Sunday, in driving winds and heavy rain, nearly 30 nurses and members of the care team from Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice completed their 25km for 25 years fundraising challenge, walking from Roath Park to the hospice in Sully, raising more than £15,000 in the process. Supporters, including other hospice staff, family and friends, turned out in force all along the route and despite the terrible weather, spirits remained high throughout the eight hour walk.
