A man from Port Talbot has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after being caught fly-tipping on land near the town’s train station. On 11th July 2025, a Waste Enforcement Officer at Neath Port Talbot Council was called to land near Cramic Way following a report of a large amount of waste having been left on land nearby. It consisted of construction materials, a vehicle bumper and household waste.  Among the waste was a letter which linked investigators to an address in Briton Ferry. Haverfordwest town centre was a hive of activity on Friday, 27thFebruary, as hundreds of children from Pembrokeshire’s schools took part in a special St David’s Day celebration. The popular parade organised by the Pembrokeshire Language Forum returned to Haverfordwest once again, with smiles all round from participants and those watching. Newport Council’s major road resurfacing programme will move to Bassaleg next week as they start work on the A467 Risca by-pass and Bassaleg roundabout. Resurfacing work will be carried out overnight over the next few weeks. Wales is set for a mixed start to the week as rain gradually pushes eastwards today, before drier and brighter conditions take hold. According to the Met Office, western parts of Wales will wake up to a wet start, while eastern areas begin the day dry but rather cloudy. Welsh farmers will be able to apply for the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS) for the first time, as the Single Application Form (SAF) opens today, 2 March 2026. The SAF window runs from 2 March to 15 May 2026. Through it, farmers can notify the Welsh Government whether they’re claiming SFS or the Basic Payment Scheme. Farmers considering joining the SFS are strongly encouraged to start their application early. Starting early allows time to resolve any queries before the 15 May deadline. The Welsh Government’s ‘Cymru Wales’ brand has partnered with Team Wales for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, marking the first time the brand will feature across athletes’ kits as they compete on the world stage this summer. A Welsh food wholesaler is forecasting a £3 million sales bonanza at its flagship trade fair next week. Harlech Foodservice says the two-day Expo 26 at Venue Cymru in Llandudno could smash all previous records after last year’s event pulled in 1.5 million in orders.
