City Hospice’s annual charity art auction is back for its 12th year. Cardiff’s local hospice is hosting a charity art auction, as part of its Light up a Life appeal, to support its work in providing specialist palliative care to patients with life limiting and terminal illnesses, and support to their families. The auction will take place at Rogers Jones Auctioneers in Cardiff on Wednesday 13 December. Winners of What You Will, a competition hosted by the charity Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation (CSSF) inviting children and young people to create new speeches for Shakespeare characters, have been announced at a gala event at London’s Criterion Theatre.     A Ukrainian pupil who arrived in the country as a refugee last year, a young person who created a speech incorporating British Sign Language that was praised by the judges as one of the most ‘ready for theatre’ pieces they had read, and a special education school that created character profiles for guests at the ball in Romeo and Juliet, were among the winners. …

The investment has doubled both the size of its manufacturing and storage facilities – to 53,000 square feet – and its production capacity in preparation for major business growth. Traditional products like wool and slate will be trialled as part of a major drive to decarbonise 7,000 homes across Gwynedd. According to business leaders, the ground-breaking Tŷ Gwyrddfai eco-project in Penygroes will put “rocket boosters” under the county’s economy as well as making the properties more energy efficient and cheaper to keep warm at a time of soaring energy costs.
