Pupils at Mary Immaculate High School in Cardiff have had a unique opportunity to learn construction skills on a real building site. The school has run a construction course for more than a decade, but has never been able to offer pupils any real-life practical experience – until now. A Flintshire pupil has won a top science prize thanks to his dedication to his studies in STEM, resulting in outstanding A-level results. Oliver Cheatle, 18, won the annual Synthite science award for his hard work across his subjects and subsequent star-studded results while studying at the Alun School. National Trust Cymru have shared the final design of one of Wales’ new commemorative woodlands at Erddig near Wrexham. People are being invited to help plant trees at the woodland which will be a living memorial to those who have sadly lost their lives during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Sport and community groups are being offered the opportunity to lease the changing rooms in Hailey Park as Cardiff Council looks to secure investment in the existing facilities and improve opportunities for residents to take part in sport and physical activity.
