Welshpool Town have officially opened the Cymru Football Foundation (CFF) and UK Government’s latest successful project, the Wayne Evans Playing Fields.  Through the Football Association of Wales’ Grassroots Facilities Investment Fund, the CFF – with support from UK Government – were able to support the installation of three new junior pitches through a grant of just over £65,000, coupled with club’s fundraising efforts. After losing their previous junior pitches to a school build in 2018, Welshpool Town were left with half of their previous pitch access and struggling to cope with the demand of playing and training opportunities for their senior…

Two years on from Barbarian Women beating South Africa Women’s XV 60-5 in front of a then-record crowd of 29,581 at Twickenham Stadium, the club has announced the Women’s side will be embarking on a two-match – and two hemisphere – autumn tour. As the Rugby World Cup prepares for kick-off in France, Welsh Government and its partners have teamed up with some of Wales’ finest artists, food and drink producers to showcase what Wales has to offer off-pitch. Fishers and aquaculture workers in Wales are being encouraged to apply for funding to improve the health and safety aspects of their work. The support is part of the Welsh Marine and Fisheries Scheme and £600,000 is being made available in this round which opens for applications today. A £45 million investment will more than double Wales’ plastic reprocessing capacity and create over 100 new jobs at the former Toyoda Gosei factory in Swansea. Jayplas, a market leader in plastic reprocessing, will develop an advanced facility capable of processing at least 100,000 tonnes of flexible and rigid plastics a year, boosting the circular economy in Wales. Once fully operational, it will reduce the carbon footprint of Wales by around 150,000 tonnes per year, the equivalent of taking 120,000 cars off the road, making a significant contribution towards zero waste and net zero emissions by 2050. Aldi stores in Wales donated 66,200 meals to families in need during the recent summer school holidays.  All of its Welsh stores supported local charities and foodbanks during a period of increased demand by redistributing surplus food via community giving platform Neighbourly.   Since Aldi’s partnership with Neighbourly began in 2019, Aldi stores across the country have already donated more than 35 million meals – including over seven million meals so far this year.   This summer, Aldi also gave every child in the UK a chance to try an Olympic or Paralympic sport for free as part of its ‘Get a Taste for Sport’ initiative, helping parents meet the cost of…
