A Newport father who was nearly paralysed after his incurable blood cancer was missed for months has joined the race to find the 851 people living with undiagnosed myeloma in the UK. Jamie Hart was diagnosed with myeloma in 2016, after months of experiencing severe neck and back pain. The father-of-one was just 49. A brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Parc Fforestfach, Swansea, is due to open its doors on 21st June. Following significant investment from a local franchisee Pippa Mounsey, the restaurant will open on June 21st, for dine-in, takeaway, Drive-Thru, delivery services and Click & Serve. A 20-year-old NHS call handler from Rhondda has praised a Specsavers’ optometrist for identifying a sight-threatening condition during a routine eye test. Emelia Jones was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) – a rare, chronic condition caused by a build-up of pressure around the brain in February 2023. Ms Jones had booked a routine eye test at Specsavers Treorchy, after experiencing headaches.
