A new webpage is now available to point Swansea businesses in the direction of work opportunities for the council. The webpage at www.swansea.gov.uk/tenderingopportunities is being kept updated by the council to show current work that businesses can bid for and the deadlines for bids. Contracts currently live for bids include flooring, videography and cavity wall insulation removal works. Newport City Council is delighted to once again be supporting Clean Air Day this year. Clean Air Day is an annual campaign run across the UK by Global Action Plan. Another Caerphilly County Borough resident has been rewarded £500 for recycling their food waste as part of the Borough’s Mash for Cash campaign. Mr and Mrs Jenkins from Caerphilly have been announced as the latest winners of Caerphilly County Borough’s Mash for Cash campaign. The campaign sees houses monitored with one food recycling participant chosen at random each month to win £500. Nant-y-Parc Primary School has been accredited with the World Class Schools Quality Mark on 23 May, making them the first Primary School in Wales to achieve this award and joining a coveted network of just over 140 schools in the UK. Nine projects that will help revitalise town centres in mid Wales have received a boost thanks to Welsh Government funding, it has been announced. Thanks to the Welsh Government Transforming Towns programme, five projects in Powys and four in Ceredigion have funding totalling just over £1.3m, which is anticipated to trigger potential investment worth just over £3m. The Welsh Government has exceeded its target for the first phase of expanding its flagship Flying Start programme, Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan has announced. The expansion of the Flying Start programme is part of a phased expansion of early years provision to all two-year-olds in Wales, with a particular emphasis on strengthening Welsh-medium provision. LEADING transport provider Adventure Travel has unveiled its Charity of the Year bus which is this year dedicated to Welsh cancer charity Tenovus Cancer Care. Adventure Travel asked its passengers to nominate good causes and 61 charities were nominated by over 600 people. 28 of those nominated were then shortlisted and put to a public ballot which saw over 28,000 votes cast via Adventure Travel’s social media platforms.
