A man and a woman from North Cornelly sentenced to a total of 16 years and 6 months for rape. On Sunday September 4, 2022, South Wales Police received a report that a 17-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by Sean Ellis-Evans and Sarah Vigus. The call was made by the victim’s mother, who was speaking on her behalf. A 23-year-old from the Cardiff area has today, September 22, been sentenced following a proactive investigation led by Counter Terrorism Policing Wales. Nermin Onour was initially arrested in October 2024 on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism contrary to Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006. On arrest Onour was asked to provide her phone pin number and despite officers explaining that her refusal could lead to a criminal offence, she refused. Matt Sherratt has been confirmed as Wales’ new attack coach, becoming the second assistant to join Steve Tandy’s backroom staff ahead of the Quilter Nations Series at Principality Stadium this November. A STUNNED woman has scooped £398,492 on People’s Postcode Lottery just three months after moving to a new flat in a 22-storey tower block – and over 160 of her neighbours have also won prizes. A “supremely gifted” 20-year-old pianist has been crowned the best young musician in Wales. Rufus Edwards, from Bersham, near Wrexham, was declared the winner of the prestigious Pendine Young Musician of Wales competition at the North Wales International Music Festival. More than 200 people (217) have died waiting for an organ transplant in Wales over the past ten years because they didn’t receive the lifesaving organs they desperately needed in time, new figures reveal. Figures released by NHS Blood and Transplant to mark Organ Donation Week show that 4,900 people in the whole of the UK died while actively waiting for a lifesaving transplant, and a further 7,700 were removed from the active list after being deemed too sick to receive one, with many dying soon after – highlighting the urgent need to increase organ donation registrations. Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court has granted an Emergency Prohibition Order (EPO) on The Royal Oak Hotel, Lampeter, prohibiting the use of the bar and cellar areas. The Order confirms emergency action already taken by Ceredigion County Council to protect public health. The Council’s Public Protection team initiated its investigation after receiving a complaint from a member of the public reporting cockroaches. An unannounced inspection on 08 September 2025 found widespread cockroach activity within the bar, including live and dead insects on monitoring boards and a live adult cockroach was observed. Football legend Gareth Bale inspired the next generation as he stepped up his drive to promote sporting opportunities for young people at the Celtic Manor Resort.
