Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to route diversions as a result of roadworks taking place in Tremorfa. Pengam Road between Rover Way and Clydesmuir Road will be closed from 8:00am on Saturday 25 June to 10:00pm on Sunday 26 June. Cardiff and Vale College’s Sport Academies have bounced back from the constraints placed on sport during the pandemic to celebrate their best-ever season in 2021-22. The Academies have seen more students getting involved as players than ever before and have brought home a record amount of silverware in regional and national competitions. Senior Flexonics Crumlin, a sales, engineering and innovation centre based in Pen-Y-Fan Industrial Estate was looking for a community environmental improvement project that their team could support. Cardiff is the first Welsh city to be named a Tree City of the World in recognition of Cardiff Council’s Coed Caerdydd tree-planting programme which aims to increase tree canopy cover in the city to 25% by 2030. Aimed at securing funding worth nearly £138m to South West Wales over the next three years, a new regional investment plan is being produced. The plan now being put together by the region’s four local authorities will unlock money already earmarked for Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea as part of the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. Karen Dear from Penyrheol has been announced as the third winner of Caerphilly County Borough’s Mash for Cash campaign. The Mash for Cash campaign was launched in March 2022 in line with Food Waste Action Week with an aim to increase the number of residents currently recycling their food waste.
