A group of kind-hearted cub scouts brought joy to care home residents when they paid a surprise visit to deliver handmade Easter cards to them. The youngsters representing the 1st Penycae troop, stopped off at Pendine Park care organisation in  Wrexham, before going on to attend their regular weekly meeting. They were joined by local youth celebrity Lilly-Anne Sullivan Gibson, 17, of Rhos, who is the current Miss Teen Powys. With food security rising up the agenda in the wake of international crises and rising prices, a new report has been published by Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC), highlighting how changes in supply patterns could lead to a limited supply of red meat – particularly beef – on the global market. The first major WWE stadium event in the UK for 30 years is to be held in Cardiff, it has been announced today. The Principality Stadium will host the event on Saturday, 3rd September 2022. Pupils and staff at Gilwern primary school continued the trip of a lifetime on Friday 8th April with a virtual hike that will see them encircle the world. The project, which started in October 2021, will raise cash for charity as well as benefit pupils’ understanding of different countries and cultures, with the current focus being on exploring Indian culture. Gilwern’s Around the World in a New Curriculum will see staff and pupils covering the distance of 50,000 kilometres, both in and outside the school premises. Powys County Council have been successful in a bid to the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund to deliver the ‘Embracing bi-lingualism with Service families’ project. The fund awarded £9814 as part of the Forces for Change programme 2022-23 to support local Armed Forces communities affected by isolation. The project will promote bi-lingualism with Nepalese families in the Brecon area. The project starts this month and will run for a year. It will support the induction of families, workshops, drop-ins, resources and information for parents to understand the importance of bi-lingualism. The Welsh Government is investing nearly £8m to continue three employment services that help people recovering from physical, mental ill-health and substance misuse into and to remain in work, Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing, Lynne Neagle, has announced today. The Out of Work Service and In-Work Support Service, which are helping people to rebuild their lives, and will be extended until 2025. The Out of Work Service helps the most vulnerable and those furthest away from the labour market. It is specifically focused on providing long term support to people recovering from mental health or substance misuse issues.…
