Lidl GB has confirmed that its supermarket on Rheidol Retail Park in Aberystwyth, has reopened its doors on Thursday 24th March after undergoing an extension and amalgamation of the adjacent unit to provide a larger, more spacious store. A new classroom and childcare setting at a Neath Port Talbot Welsh-medium primary school have been officially opened by Jeremy Miles, the Minister for Education and Welsh Language. Pupils at Welsh-medium 3-11 primary school Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg (YGG) Cwmllynfell are enjoying extra space and modernised facilities after the successful completion of a £640,000 renewal project. Neath Port Talbot Council is making big changes at its waste facility at Crymlyn Burrows to meet modern requirements. Bridgend County Borough Council is urging residents who are unpaid carers to be alert for a new scam. Within days of Welsh Government announcing that more than 57,000 unpaid carers across Wales are to receive a £500 support payment, some residents have reported being contacted by individuals impersonating council officers who have asked for confidential banking details in order to process the payment. The Planning and Development Committee has supported RCT Council’s application to replace Castle Inn footbridge in Treforest – to re-establish the important link over the Afon Taff while reducing the flood risk at this location.
