Business confidence in Wales rose seven points during July to 30%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Companies in Wales reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up 13 points at 41%.  When taken alongside their optimism in the economy, up two points to 19%, this gives a headline confidence reading of 30%. Welsh firms identified their top target areas for growth in the next six months as diversifying into new markets (40%), investing in their teams (40%) and evolving their offering with new products or services (31%). A new, first of its kind airship adventure has taken flight in Rhyl, North Wales. It’s the latest addition to the attractions offered by Zip World, which operates adventure experiences at five locations in Wales. The new Skyflyer is the 20th adventure launched by Zip World. The blimp-like airship takes passengers 400 feet in the air to enjoy views over the coast of Wales all the way to Liverpool and the Isle of Man on a clear day. Many people think to call the RSPCA for help but the charity, whose focus is on rescuing animals who are sick, injured or being badly treated, is urging people to contact their local dog warden. Two new shops in Mold and Wrexham will generate new jobs and help raise vital funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices. The charity will be returning to Mold and opening a new shop on High Street while also relocating its long-standing Wrexham shop from Charles Street to Island Green. A kind truck driver will get on his bike for a marathon effort in aid of a good cause that’s close to his heart. George Grice hopes to raise more than £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation which has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK since its foundation more than 60 years ago. Walkers have been flocking back to a brand new stretch of coast path which has been completed along the Gower coastline. 270 metres of accessible coast path has been installed along the coast between Gower beauty spots – Limeslade and Rotherslade. The essential work was completed earlier in the year after coastal erosion was discovered near to the original path in 2019. Following the inspection of the path, Swansea Council’s Countryside Team brought in contractors to create a new path further inland and away from affected area.
