The RNLI has announced today (8 November) that the 2021 review of the Cardigan Bay coastline concluded that an all-weather lifeboat will be stationed between Fishguard and Barmouth, with the most suitable location identified as New Quay. A 25 knot Shannon class lifeboat will replace the ageing 17 knot Mersey class lifeboat. In 2016, a review of Cardigan Bay recommended an inshore Atlantic 85 lifeboat would replace New Quay’s current Mersey class all-weather lifeboat (ALB). Land for the development of new industrial business units at Ty Du near Nelson, Caerphilly is now available to the market. A major scheme to undertake enabling highways infrastructure works, including installation of services and estate roads was successfully completed in 2019. The headline NatWest Wales Business Activity Index – a seasonally adjusted index that measures the month-on-month change in the combined output of the region’s manufacturing and service sectors – registered 61.5 in October, up from 57.1 in September, to signal a marked expansion in output. A group of North Wales volunteers and businesses have come together to ensure a warm Welsh welcome to refugees being resettled in the area. The ‘Croeso Cymreig – Welsh Welcome’ community project collects food and gifts donated by local firms, to create welcome hampers that are distributed to refugees making a new home in North Wales.
