Runners who want to take part in the 2026 Kidney Wales CDF 10K need to act quickly if they want to secure their spot as there’s less than 10% of spots remaining.

This year’s race takes place in the heart of the city on Sunday 6 September and will be its largest edition ever with up to 10,000 runners expected to take part.

It also marks the 40th anniversary of the race and celebrations will be taking place throughout the day.

In a nod to the event’s 80s roots runners can expect to hear 80s music around the course, remember the occasion with 80s themed finishers’ items, as well as outrageous fashion with fancy dress encouraged for people to join in with the celebrations.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: “Entries into this year’s Kidney Wales CDF 10K are close to selling out so we’d urge those who want to take part and are yet to sign up, to do so, to avoid disappointment.

“The event is planned to be even bigger and better than ever before, and we’d love to see as many participants as possible to get into the spirit of the celebrations by donning their leotards, legwarmers and sweatbands.”

Founded by Kidney Wales in 1986, the event has been managed by Run 4 Wales since 2023 and has grown in size and scale to become one of the largest 10K races in the UK.

While Kidney Wales has remained the event’s lead charity partner over the years, to mark the milestone, they have become headline partner of the 2026 event.

While all general entries are close to sell-out there are also several Kidney Wales charity spaces available. Runners can sign up for just £5 when pledging to raise £125 for the charity.
