A Ceredigion public house has been fined £2,000 and served a Premises Closure Notice after failing to comply with a Premises Improvement Notice and for additional breaches of the Covid-19 regulations. On Monday 24 May 2021, officers from Ceredigion County Council’s Public Protection team carried out routine patrols in the county. The team visited The Ffostrasol Arms, Ffostrasol, who had recently been issued with a Premises Improvement Notice, to check compliance. Two men have been arrested in Paris in connection with the murder of Tomasz Waga. Tomasz’s body was discovered by a member of the public at approximately 11.30pm on Thursday, January 28 in Westville Road, Penylan, Cardiff. He had been the victim of a sustained assault. Four men have already been charged in connection with his death and are remanded in custody awaiting trial. Tax credits customers should be vigilant and alert to potential scams, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has warned, as the remaining annual renewal packs will arrive in the post this week. In the 12 months to 30 April 2021, HMRC responded to more than 1,154,300 referrals of suspicious contact from the public. More than 576,960 of these offered bogus tax rebates.
