South Wales Police have issued an urgent appeal for a Good Samaritan who helped a young woman in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff, on Saturday night to come forward. A man has been sentenced to 10 years, with an extension period of six years, after he was convicted of a rape and an attempt to rape. Yusuf Nur, aged 47, of Cardiff, pleaded guilty to the two offences on September 15, 2025 and has been sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court. A pensioner whose dad cheated death in the Gresford colliery disaster says it’s “absolutely wonderful” the story is being taken to a wider audience.
