RCT Council is pleased to confirm that planning permission has been granted for its major school investment plans at Ffynnon Taf Primary, Cwmlai Primary and Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun – which can now all be progressed. More than 40 charities, volunteer and community groups tackling food poverty have successfully applied for grants from Swansea Council to support their work. The funding will be used for a variety of schemes ranging from community gardens growing fresh produce to groups providing crisis support for people in urgent need of a meal. Others work with families and individuals to give them the skills to prepare healthy and nutritious meals on a budget. Wales’ public services will receive a cash boost of more than £682m to support their COVID efforts over the coming months, the First Minister announced today. The Aloud Charity have gathered their mass virtual choir Everyone Aloud for a special St David’s Day performance, with Sir Bryn Terfel joining as a soloist. The charity asked members of the public to submit videos of themselves singing in order to join the virtual choir, and they received over 100 videos from across the world, from the USA to Japan, Germany to Holland. A boys choir that wowed judges on hit TV show  Britain’s Got Talent is looking to have the same impact in Japan. Only Boys Aloud will be taking part in a televised concert in the Land of the Rising Sun with three Japanese youth choirs from the cities of Kitakyushu, Kumamoto and Oita that hosted the Welsh Rugby team and so warmly welcomed Wales during the World Cup in 2019.
