WORK to prepare land in one of Cardiff’s most sought-after neighbourhoods for luxurious new homes is now underway. Magor-based Edenstone Homes has acquired a four acre site, south of Lisvane Road. The land already benefitted from planning consent, but the independent homebuilder made some minor amends to the plans. A social enterprise has announced ambitious plans to build nearly 350 carbon zero homes after clinching a five-year deal with the company that developed them. Creating Enterprise have signed a contract with Beattie Passive giving them exclusive rights to their pioneering Passivhaus build system in North Wales until 2025. Emergency services are dealing with a large diesel train which is on fire on the track near Llangennech. A cordon has been put in place around the train, with roads closed and homes being evacuated. Dyfed Powys Police are urging people to avoid the area. In the early hours of this morning, Police introduced an evacuation zone in the area. A brand new hospital for Wales will open four months ahead of schedule the Health Minister, Vaughan Gething has confirmed today. The Grange Hospital will officially open mid-November this year, instead of the original planned date in March 2021. The new facility based in Cwmbran, which has received over £360m Welsh Government funding will provide emergency and urgent care, brings together services previously provided at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.
