A police boss has declared war on “despicably heartless” fraudsters after victims in North Wales were tricked out of nearly £9 million. Montgomeryshire’s MP Craig Williams and Assembly Member Russell George have pledged their full support for the restoration of the Montgomery Canal. The Conservative politicians are backing a bid by the Montgomery Canal Partnership for the canal restoration to be included in the projects supported by the Mid Wales Growth Deal. The Conservative Government has pledged an initial £55 million for the Growth Deal and it’s hoped the Welsh Government will match that amount. South Wales Police is currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision which occurred around 4am this morning on the A4231 Barry Link Road. The road is currently closed from McDonalds to the traffic lights at Coldbrook Road East. Coldbrook Road East can still be used. The road will be closed for several hours so motorists are being asked to please use an alternative route. Two men aged 35 and 26 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The DEPOT, who have established themselves as one of the biggest entertainment brands in the city, have opened the doors to their new 22,000 sq.ft venue. It has been five years since they first opened as a temporary, eight-week pop-up. The independent warehouse events venue has invested £300,000 into relocating to its new city-centre premises, based in a former Lyndons Scaffolding unit on Williams Way, Curran Embankment. Environment Minister, Lesley Griffiths has awarded Cardiff Council £21m to implement a series of measures to improve air quality after she approved its revised clean air proposals. In February 2018, the Welsh Government instructed Cardiff Council to undertake a feasibility study to identify measures to address illegal nitrogen dioxide exceedances in the shortest possible time. In June 2019, Cardiff Council submitted its final Plan. The National Lottery Community Fund announced nearly £300,000 has been awarded to communities in Wales to tackle climate change, thanks to National Lottery players. 29 groups across Wales have been awarded grants totalling £295,952 from The National Lottery Community Fund to make small improvements in their communities to tackle the climate emergency.
