RSPCA Cymru is celebrating news that the Wild Animals and Circuses (Wales) Bill has been given Royal Assent. A Royal Assent ceremony took place yesterday (7 September), with the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs Lesley Griffiths and First Minister Mark Drakeford present. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s FREE town centre Wi-Fi scheme is now available in Porth and Treorchy town centres. Thanks to the next phase of the extension of the scheme, shoppers, businesses and visitors to both town centres can now enjoy the free public-access Wi-Fi scheme. Health Minister, Vaughan Gething, has today (8 September) announced additional mental health support that anyone in Wales can access when they need to. The package is supported by £1.3m Welsh Government funding and includes a new online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy course and other online and phone support services. Coronavirus laws will be tightened across Caerphilly borough to prevent a local outbreak of the virus spreading, Health Minister Vaughan Gething announced last tonight. Five popular bars in Cardiff centre were served with improvement notices by officers from the Shared Regulatory Service this weekend for failing to comply with Covid-19 health and safety measures set out by Welsh Government. Coyote Ugly and Peppermint on St Mary Street, Mocka Lounge on Mill Lane, plus Rum and Fizz, and Gin and Juice on High Street were all issued with notices giving them 48 hours to make changes to the way they are operating. South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred at approximately 8.05pm yesterday (Monday, September 7), on Wellington Street, Swansea.  The collision involved a Scania lorry and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 56-year-old local man, was taken to Morriston Hospital with serious injuries, where he later died despite the best efforts of paramedics and hospital staff.
