Jason Farrell, 49, has today been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 26 years for the murder of Sammy Lee Lodwig, and a 14-year term for GBH assault on Christopher Maher, to run concurrently. Sammy Lee died following the incident in the Mount Pleasant area of Swansea on April 23. Rachael and Kirsty Hoyles from Cwmcarn sadly lost their twin baby boys, Bayden and Jude within weeks of each other and were utterly heartbroken by this tragedy.  Rachael and Kirsty both decided they wanted to help other parents who have suffered baby loss and have kindly donated two cuddle cots so that parents can spend precious time with their baby before saying a final goodbye. Cardiff and Vale College’s Netball Academy has hit the ground running in its third year, with players being selected for Wales, Cardiff and Vale County and for Netball Superleague team the Celtic Dragons. Seven students have been selected for the Celtic Dragons U17 and U19 squads and two have been selected for the Cardiff and vale County team. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for further heavy rain on Saturday leading to some flooding and travel disruption. A spell of heavy rain is expected to develop across western parts of England and Wales, becoming slow-moving in some areas.
