Caerphilly county borough council is seeking to appoint a Chairperson to head a special Board which will determine how £20million of funding will be invested in the local community. The UK Government’s ‘Pride in Place’ Programme will see neighbourhood areas across the country receive up to £20 million of funding and support over the next 10 years to make long-term improvements that residents want. South Wales Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Penarth Road at its junction with Clare Road, Grangetown, on Wednesday, March 25, at 12.27pm. The collision involved a red SsangYong Tivoli motor car and a bike. A 16-year-old boy from Grangetown, who was on the bike, died at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services – his family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
