Caerphilly county borough council is seeking to appoint a Chairperson to head a special Board which will determine how £20million of funding will be invested in the local community.

The UK Government’s ‘Pride in Place’ Programme will see neighbourhood areas across the country receive up to £20 million of funding and support over the next 10 years to make long-term improvements that residents want.

The communities of Aberbargoed, Bargoed and New Tredegar have been selected as the combined qualifying neighbourhood to receive the funding within Caerphilly county borough.

An independent Neighbourhood Board will now be established to agree how the money will be spent, with a key focus on community engagement to agree the nature of the investment.

The council is seeking expressions of interest for a Chair of the new Board and anyone interested in applying can get in touch to discuss eligibility criteria and how to apply – please contact [email protected]

The role of Chair is voluntary, but reasonable expenses can be paid. The deadline for Expressions of Interest for the Chair is 30 April 2026.
