Tide, the popular outdoor coffee shop at Halen Môn, has launched a new covered seating area, to allow visitors to enjoy the panoramic views of Eryri and out over the Menai Strait all year round. Named Pabell, after the Welsh for canopy, the venue is also being offered to charity and community groups who can hire the space for free for activities, courses or meetings. A new scheme funded by the Welsh Government to install on-street residential electric-vehicle charging points will be trialled by Ceredigion County Council from March/April of this year. The Council will select three locations in Aberystwyth for a trial after carrying out a ground survey. A total of 18 electric vehicle (EV) charge points will be installed, with six at each location. School and college students from institutions around Wales met at the University of South Wales’ (USW) Newport Campus for the Skills Competition Wales event – a series of competitions in the digital, business and creative sphere. Skills Competition Wales is a Welsh Government funded initiative, coordinated by the Inspiring Skills Excellence in Wales project. Police in Cardiff are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of Mark Kinson who has been missing for two weeks. Mark, 52, was seen on Friday January 31, at 9.45pm on Uphill Road, Llanrumney. He was then seen at around 10pm in the Captains Walk walking in the general direction of Braunton Crescent. Extensive enquiries have been carried out, and these are continuing, to locate Mark but there have been no confirmed sightings since that day. A man who was one of the UK’s most wanted criminals has been sent to prison for 12 years at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on Friday, February 14. Calvin Parris was the last member of an organised crime group (OCG) to be brought to justice after being on the run for four years. Parris, 34, from Cardiff, was finally detained by Portuguese Judicial Police officers in the Algarve, Portugal, on October 3. Specialist National Extradition Unit officers from the NCA’s Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) escorted him back to the UK on October 15, 2024, and he was taken into custody…
