Signs for Fishguard’s new art trail have been targeted, causing around £400 of damage. Pembrokeshire County Council has contacted Dyfed-Powys Police after five metal fingerpost way-markers appear to have been deliberately cut from signposts in Fishguard recently. The signs direct residents and visitors to the Art Afoot /Celf ar Droed trail, which launched in December and has been a popular attraction in the seaside town, funded by UK Government. An Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) has been declared across the whole of Wales from midnight. The zone will remain in place until a reduction in risk levels indicates it is no longer required. The requirements within the AIPZ and other measures to reduce the risk of avian influenza transmission will be under ongoing review. This zone introduces strict biosecurity measures for all bird keepers. This includes those who keep pet birds. The measures will help prevent the spread of avian influenza from wild birds or any other source. The AIPZ currently does not include a requirement to house birds.…
Education Cabinet Secretary Lynne Neagle MS has officially opened the new Welsh-medium school for three to 11-year-olds built in Pembroke. The £13.9 million Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Penfro new build represents further investment in Welsh medium primary education in Pembrokeshire and was funded by the Welsh Government through its Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, (Welsh Medium Capital Grant), (Childcare Offer Capital Grant) and Pembrokeshire County Council. The latest police recorded collision stats, covering July – September 2024, show collisions on Welsh roads at their lowest level for that quarter since records began, including during the pandemic. The figures published today also provide the first year of statistics since the default 20mph speed limit was introduced.
