Following a licence review hearing on Tuesday 7th April 2026 Ceredigion County Council has revoked the Premises Licence for Rominos, Cardigan. The licence review was called by the Home Office Immigration Enforcement Team, who carried out four separate visits to the premises. Across these visits, officers identified a total of eight illegal workers employed at the business. The review was supported by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, who conducted fire safety inspections at the premises. Pensioners are being warned to be on high alert for scams as the recovery of Winter Fuel Payments begins this month. Almost two million people are expected to repay their winter 2025 payment due to their annual income being more than £35,000 – for most, an automatic process. A suspected drug dealer has been arrested in Cardiff after officers seized a large quantity of cannabis and an illegal electric bike. Neighbourhood policing teams were on foot patrol in the Ely area on April 10 when PCSOs spotted a man riding an illegal Sur-Ron bike along Heol Trelai in Cardiff. Officers intervened, with a PCSO tackling the rider from the bike after he attempted to make off. He then tried to flee on foot but was quickly detained by a neighbourhood officer. Two people have been arrested following a late-night incident in Barry, with police continuing to investigate reports of an assault. Officers were called to Park Road in Barry at around 10.30pm on Monday, April 13, following reports that a person had been assaulted. However, South Wales Police say no victim has come forward or been identified at this stage. Checks have been carried out with local hospitals and enquiries are ongoing. A man from Swansea has been jailed after he was found guilty of rape and assault, both against the same victim. 30-year-old Adam Ezalden, from Waun Wen, punched and kicked his victim on a number of occasions after the victim had made clear that he did not have her consent. The victim was only able to escape the assault, which took place in April 2024, after elbowing Ezalden to the face and taking the opportunity to run away. Ezalden was found guilty of rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March 2026. He has this week been sentenced to…

A man has been jailed following a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a child. The court heard how 18-year-old Kaylem Longhurst, was riding the motorcycle when he struck the child, causing serious injuries, before fleeing the scene. Following a thorough investigation, Longhurst, of Morgan Walk, Nantwich, was identified and admitted dangerous driving. He was also convicted by a jury at Mold Crown Court in February of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. A new Thermal Imaging Camera loan scheme has been launched by Cardiff Hubs and Libraries to help residents identify heat loss in their homes, improve energy efficiency, and reduce energy bills. Residents can now borrow a Thermal Imaging Camera for up to three weeks from any Cardiff hub or library using their library card.  Residents who aren’t library members can sign up for free.
