Rising star Madlen Forwood who is tipped to be “the next Katherine Jenkins” has been named as the final artist for this year’s Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s Remembrance Concert. Young people in Tonyrefail are working with the celebrated graffiti artist ‘Tee2Sugars’ to create a vibrant and colourful mural that celebrates Wales and their community. The exciting project is funded by the Council, linked to a local footbridge replacement that was completed earlier this year. A group of pupils from Tonyrefail Community School has helped to design the mural. Motorists are advised to plan ahead before they travel as major road works  are set to begin on the A470 between Talerddig and Dolfach with a total closure of the road from 31st October until 20th December 2024, The work will provide a permanent solution on this stretch of road which has had traffic management in place since an emergency closure in October 2023, when a retaining wall which supported the road partially collapsed. A slowdown in demand in the housing market in Wales is leading to a cautious outlook amongst surveyors for the final quarter of the year, according to the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). A net balance of -43% of surveyors in Wales reported that new buyer enquiries fell through September which is the lowest this balance has been since October 2023, and the lowest balance across all the UK regions.
