Cardiff Crown Court has heard of the misery that Paul Atkinson caused residents after they agreed for him to undertake building work and home improvements at their properties. In a case brought by Bridgend County Borough Council, Atkinson, of Woodlands Avenue, Porthcawl, was charged with offences under the Fraud Act 2006 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. The Shared Regulatory Services then investigated Atkinson’s trading practices, and it soon became apparent that he engaged in misleading and fraudulent trading practices in his dealings with customers. Swansea Council has announced an immediate halt to work on the proposed active travel route through Sketty and Uplands. The proposed active travel network expansion, which has been under discussion with residents and businesses, aims to provide dedicated cycling lanes and improved pedestrian and crossing facilities along Walter Road and Sketty Road.
