A bespoke catering company based in Cardiff is celebrating a successful first year in business.

Set up 14 months ago by Zimbabwe-born Laura Graham, The Tidy Kitchen Co creates hand-made meals for corporate events, special occasions and private clients across the UK using mainly local, seasonal ingredients.

To keep up with the growing demand for the company’s services, 31 year-old Laura recently launched an online ordering system to help clients find hassle-free, varied catering options quickly and easily.

Clients already using the new ordering system range from local businesses in need of catering for events and meetings, to individuals who want convenience, quality and traceability from their food.

Laura was professionally trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine. After six years of working as a chef on superyachts in Palma and Antigua, and experience in professional kitchens in London and Bristol, she moved back to south Wales to start her own catering company in early 2017.

The business now employs four full-time members of staff, and up to ten freelance events staff for larger bookings and events.

Since setting up The Tidy Kitchen Co, Laura has worked with a number of celebrity clients ranging from Formula 1 drivers to chart-topping musicians. In November, she also provided all of the nutritionally-balanced, vegan food required to fuel endurance athlete Mathew Pritchard’s successful attempt to run, swim and cycle around the coast and border of Wales in just 14 days (documented in BBC One’s Madman to Ironman).

Laura also stars in tonight’s episode of Matt’s latest TV show, Dirty Vegan, helping the extreme athlete to prepare and cook a hearty vegan meal using fresh jackfruit.

Laura explained “The first year of The Tidy Kitchen Co has been a real whirlwind; we’ve been so lucky to work with some amazing clients, and our food has been really well received.

Our ethos is all about being able to cater for everyone, no matter their dietary needs or choices, and that flexibility and variety is what our customers have responded really well to.

We’re looking forward to another big year, and with the launch of our new online ordering system, we’re in a really good position to drive the business forward. We can’t wait to see what the next 12 months will bring.”
