Guarantee yourself a double dose of Christmas spirit this year with a trip to the North Pole to meet Santa himself!

All aboard! Christmas might still be more than just a few months away, but the Churnet Valley Railway’s Polar Express Christmas Train experience already seems to be the gift this year as more and more people secure their tickets to the North Pole.

Introduce your young ones to the magic of Christmas aboard our beautifully restored vintage steam train as we slowly meander through the Staffordshire Moorlands, taking in the magical sights while listening to the Polar Express story as told by those who lived the adventure.

The Polar Express is scheduled to start its near-daily trips from Froghall Station to the North Pole on the 18th of November and will continue bringing the magic to all the good little boys and girls until just before Christmas. Froghall Station is barely a 30-minute drive from Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent, and Uttoxeter, putting the spirit of Christmas within easy reach of anywhere in the Staffordshire area.

Santa is a very popular man, and tickets to meet him are going fast. Book now to guarantee your spot.

    Off to the North Pole…

The adventure starts on the platform as kids and parents alike enjoy the buzz and excitement of boarding the Polar Express in their pyjamas and seeing who’ll be joining them on the journey. Once the conductor gets us going, guests aboard the Polar Express are naturally served the richest of hot chocolates by a troupe of singing and dancing chefs, and as a special treat, they’ll also throw in a festive cookie.

From there, we make our way to the frozen north while your favourite characters entertain and wow the children with barely believable tales of Christmas adventures. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Northern Lights as we inch closer and closer to the North Pole to pick up the star of the show.

    Personal time with Santa

After picking up Santa Claus from the North Pole, we start making our way back to Froghall with the jolly red man on board. Everyone gets a chance to spend some time with Santa, who loves nothing more than giving all the boys and girls a very special Christmas present – a silver bell from his own sleigh. He’ll also personally sign your copy of the Polar Express as proof that you met him in person, and if you ask him nicely, might even help you write your Christmas wishlist to make sure you get what you want.

The Churnet Valley Railway Polar Express Christmas Train is a family-friendly treat for young and old. Get into the spirit of Christmas and set yourself up for the most magical Christmastime ever!

Visit the Churnet Valley Railway website for more information about the Polar Express and other rides hosted throughout the year, or click here to purchase regular or Premium Class tickets that include a gift bag and souvenir mug.
