People can now book a swimming slot at Aberystwyth University’s pool as building works continue at Plascrug Leisure Centre.

Ceredigion County Council is very grateful to the University for its support as we carry out essential work on Plascrug Leisure Centre before it can be reopened.

In the meantime, people can take advantage of a number of slots allocated for community use at the University’s Sports Centre from Monday, 28 June 2021, onwards.

Family swimming sessions, 60+ and lane swimming will be available. Each session will be a one hour slot with 45 minutes in the pool and entry into the water at quarter past the hour.

For lane swimming, the swimming pool will be split into four lanes, with two for faster swimmers and the other two for recreational use.

During the family swimming sessions, the pool will be divided into four pods. Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1 to 1 ratio, children under 8 years old must also be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult.

You will need to book a slot in advance by visiting Ceredigion Actif’s website (www.ceredigionactif.org.uk) to download a booking form. Telephone bookings will be available shortly. Walk-ins will not be permitted.

    COVID-19 guidelines for swimmers

The coronavirus remains a threat to our communities and we are seeing a rise in cases in the county. Therefore, we ask everyone to follow all the rules to keep each other safe.
