With families across the UK facing stricter lockdown measures, online toy retailer Bargain Max recently launched a Halloween inspired competition for kids.

In what has been a spooky and creative competition for youngsters across the UK, Bargain Max has now announced the final 10 shortlisted entries, including brother and sister Ethan Fish (aged 8) & Megan Fish (aged 4) from Pontypridd, Wales.

The competition asked children across the UK to recreate their favourite Halloween character or film scene using toys around the home, as well using other materials to bring their vision to life. The competition saw more than 50 entries from all across the UK, with parents entering their children’s homemade creations via Facebook.

Parent Katy Watkins, entered her son and daughters’ recreation of the famous Goosebumps Haunted Halloween scene, made out of Lego. Their favourite character is slappy the ventriloquist dummy.

“They wanted to make it between them. It’s the scene from Goosebumps haunted Halloween when all of R.L Stine’s creations are set free from the book by ‘slappy the ventriloquist dummy’. They both love Goosebumps, as do I!

They made the scene using various Lego character sets that they took apart and rebuilt to make the spooky characters and they printed and made the volcano background. They also made the purple slime using a slime kit and then they set up the scene between them..”

All shortlisted entries can be viewed here: https://www.bargainmax.co.uk/spook-tacular-competition

The overall winner will be announced on Monday October 26th 2020. First prize is a Bargain Max gift voucher worth £100.00, second place will receive a £50.00 Bargain Max voucher, and third place will receive one toy of choice from the website (up to the value of £25.00).

A spokesperson for Bargain Max says:

“The quality and creativity of entries into our Halloween competition has been fantastic and it was really tough shortlisting the entries down to just 10!

“Thank you to everyone who entered, we had great fun seeing your recreations of Halloween classics! We hope our competition has brought families a bit of fun and has shown alternative ways we can all celebrate Halloween this year whilst staying safe at home.
