Castle Dairies, the family run Caerphilly firm, has expanded the range of goods it supplies to supermarkets across Wales.

This April 2020, supermarket chain Aldi will be joining other Welsh retailers, including Waitrose, M&S and Morrisons by stocking award-winning and locally made Castle Dairies Welsh Spreadable Butter (500g) in all 52 of its stores across Wales.

The much sought after traditional salted Welsh spreadable, which contains 100% Welsh butter, is made from only the finest natural ingredients. Welsh Cream is carefully churned and hand salted to produce a sumptuously creamy and well-balanced salty spreadable butter that spreads straight from the fridge. Castle Dairies are delighted that this product will be more widely available for their loyal customers across Wales, as well as providing Welsh customers with more opportunities to enjoy high quality, locally sourced produce, made and grown here in Wales.

It was awarded a 1-star Great Taste Award in 2019, a highly commendable and competitive award. Comments from judges included, ‘’A smooth pale golden butter with a balanced salt level. This soft butter has a creaminess and leaves a lovely mouthfeel.’’

David Cooknell (Head of Retail Sales at Castle Dairies) said: “Here at Castle Dairies in Caerphilly, we are delighted to be supplying our Welsh Spreadable Butter into Aldi. Working with Aldi, we identified the potential for shoppers in Wales to be able to buy more Welsh produce. Our Castle Dairies Welsh Spreadable has been proven to be a hugely popular product with Welsh consumers. We attribute our growth to our great tasting, high quality products made from 100% Welsh cream sourced from farms across Wales.”

Castle Dairies Welsh Spreadable Butter (500g) is available from Aldi stores across Wales from the 1st April 2020. It is also available in M&S, Waitrose and Morrisons.

Completing the range, Castle Dairies Welsh Salted Butter (250g) is available in Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose. Their Castle Dairies Welsh Unsalted Butter (250g) is available in Asda and Sainsbury’s.
