“Staff across the College work tirelessly to train their competitors, which enables them to compete to such a high standard. The fact the we are sending more young people to the Finals than any other college in Wales is testament to that.”

WorldSkills UK Competitions are run in more 60 skill areas and are proven to help people go further, faster in their training and chosen career.

WorldSkills UK Chief Executive Dr Neil Bentley said: “I offer my congratulations to Cardiff and Vale College. Our competitions equip apprentices and learners with the lifelong, world-class skills that will drive up training standards to the highest level to help boost UK productivity and competitiveness.

“The 12 Cardiff and Vale College students will spend from now until November in training for the WorldSkills UK Competitions, supported by their College.”

If successful in the National Finals, the students could be invited to join the WorldSkills UK training programme for the international WorldSkills Competition where they could be selected to represent the UK in their chosen skill.
