One of Europe’s leading ski and snowboard schools have appointed award-winning online booking and scheduling specialist, thinkBooker, to design and develop a new online booking and instructor scheduling system.

[aoa id=”1″]Formed more than two decades ago by four ski instructor friends, New Generation has grown to become one of the leading names in ski and snowboard instruction across Europe. Operating in 17 of the most well-known resorts throughout France, Switzerland and Austria, the company now have more than 200 instructors working either on a fully-employed or freelance basis; offering a range of classes and courses for all ages and skill levels. In addition, New Generation also provide one-to-one instruction and experiences for their broad client-base, as well as training courses for those looking to become qualified instructors.[/aoa]

Cardiff headquartered thinkBooker, have been commissioned to deliver a bespoke online booking and instructor scheduling system, as part of New Generation’s strategy to embrace technology, to complement the company’s vast expertise and experience within the ski and snowboard instruction market. They key aims are to improve customer experience, increase the rate of online booking and improving operational efficiency.

The award-winning booking system will allow New Generation’s clients to book onto groups or private lessons, based on key criteria such as date, time, location, age and ability level, directly from desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet device. It will also enable clients to book instructors for individual lessons or to share with friends; allowing them to select their instructor or let the system allocate one on their behalf. A dedicated portal will also allow 3rd party agents and tour operators to quickly and easily book clients onto lessons directly from the resort via mobile or tablet.

Linked to the new booking journey, thinkBooker will also be developing an instructor scheduling system that will allow New Generation staff to manage the bookings and availability of the instructors at each resort, while allowing instructors to access their bookings via a web app on their mobile or tablet devices. Not only will this improve operational efficiency among the sales and bookings staff, it will also deliver an improved experience for instructors when managing their personal schedules; an important part of New Generation’s strategy of providing the best support and infrastructure for their instructors, helping to retain the best talent across each resort.

A fully bespoke, online booking and scheduling platform, thinkBooker allows customers to book quickly and easily online and to schedule staff and resources in order to maximise utilisation and efficiency.  In 2017, thinkBooker won ‘Best Emerging Technology’ at the Wales Online Digital Awards and this was followed in 2018 by a win in the Best ecommerce category’ for its work with the luxury online retailer Farfetch.

Companies using thinkBooker include SMEs across many different industry sectors and large organisations such as US NFL Franchise, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Aston Martin Owners Club, the Welsh Rugby Union, Football Association of Wales and Cardiff Airport.

Tom Saxlund, Director and Co-Founder of New Generation, said:

“Using the best technology on the market to deliver an unsurpassed user experience, alongside efficient ways of working are key to our strategy of creating a strong community between customers, staff, instructors and tour operators.   Our new online booking and scheduling system will provide a powerful platform for us to deliver on these aims.

“We spent a lot of time researching and talking to different online booking companies and thinkBooker stood out as being the right fit for us. The enthusiasm and willingness of their team to fully understand our business, our challenges, opportunities and culture, alongside their expertise and ability to deliver a bespoke solution, which meets our exact requirements, fills us with confidence that we can embark on a long and successful partnership together.”

Managing Director of thinkBooker, Gareth Rees Jones added:

“We’re really excited to be working with such an established and successful name from the ski and snowboard world. Unlike many of the new technology companies who have entered the ski instruction market, New Generation are first and foremost passionate ski and snowboard instruction experts, who have recognised the opportunity to introduce technology into their business in order to improve the user experience for both their customers and to create a real online community for their instructors.

“We are looking forward to working with the team at New Gen to develop and launch the thinkBooker solution and to working with them long term to help further grow the business.”
