While there will be changes to routes and timetables on the Baycar (service 6), which will only travel as far as the Wales Millennium Centre and will not serve Porth Teigr; also the 9A will be renumbered 9 and will not serve Channel View, Beecher Avenue, and South Clive Street. Service 9C will be introduced, which will run between Channel View and the city centre from Monday to Saturday.

Services 28, 28A, and 28B will run along Albany Road, Wellfield Road, Ninian Road, Lake Road East, Lakeside Drive and Celyn Avenue.  In addition to this, buses will stay on Ty Glas Avenue, and not serve Parc Ty Glas.

Service 52 will be extended to Cyncoed and Hampton Crescent, while service 61 will be split into two. The 61 will travel between the city centre and Pentrebane and the section between the city centre and Pengam Green will be renumbered service 11.

Service 64 and 65 will be operated by Cardiff Bus and will be split into separate routes.  Service 64 will travel between the city centre and Heath Hospital via Canton, Fairwater, Pentrebane, Danescourt, Llandaff North, Whitchurch and Birchgrove.  Service 65 will run between the Heath Hospital and St Mellons via Roath and Llanrumney.  Service 65A will operate between the Heath Hospital and Llanrumney via Roath and St Mellons.

The new 95A service will run to Cardiff West park and ride in Leckwith, Llandough Hospital, Redlands Road, Stanwell Road and Penarth town centre and will no longer serve the Cowslip estate.  The new service 95B will run to Cardiff West park and ride only.

Services 15, 51, 53 and 66 currently operated by Capital Links will be operated by Cardiff Bus with support from Cardiff Council, while service 12 and 86 will be run by another operator.

Service X91, which currently runs between Llantwit Major and Cardiff, and night buses on routes 18, 27, 44, 57, will be withdrawn.  Service 54 will also be withdrawn, however, service 52 will extend to Cyncoed to replace this withdrawn service, and service 9C will be introduced to serve Channel View.

A Cardiff Bus spokesman reminded customers to check all route and timetable changes before travelling.

He said: “We are set to introduce a number of timetable and route changes which will affect customers across our network.

“We appreciate that any change could be an inconvenience, but we would like to reassure our customers that we have thoroughly assessed all services.  We are pleased that Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council were able to secure funding to continue operating some routes that would otherwise be withdrawn.

“We would encourage all our customers to check revised timetable and route details before travelling, as they will be subject to change from the 31st.

“Details of all our changes can be found via our website at www.cardiffbus.com, via our new travel centre on Westgate Street, or via our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.”
