Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to route diversions as a result of the Cardiff 5K taking place Sunday 30th April.

The event will mean diversions to routes 21, 23, 24 and 25.

Services 21 & 23 departing the city centre from 14:37 until the last bus will see route diversions between Gabalfa Interchange and Pantmawr Road where buses will operate via Manor Way and Northern Avenue.

Service 24 departing the city from 14:50 until the last bus will operate its normal route to Gabalfa Interchange, diverting via Manor Way, Northern Avenue, Old Church Road, and Penlline Road, and then will return to its normal route. There will be a temporary bus stop on Old Church Road, near Penlline Road junction.

Service 25 departing the city centre at 15:15, 16:15 and 17:15 will operate its normal route to Whitchurch Library, and divert via Kelston Road, Heol Don, Station Road, Gabalfa Avenue, College Road, Merthyr Road and will then return to its normal route.

Service 25 departing the city centre at 18:15 will operate its normal route to Cardiff Road / Llantrisant Road / Bridge Road roundabout and then return to the city centre via Llantrisant Road, Cardiff Road, Western Avenue, Gabalfa Interchange, North Road and then will return to its normal route.

Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, reminds customers to plan their journeys before travelling.

He said: “We are set to divert some bus routes as a result of the Whitchurch 5k this Sunday. We will do everything possible to minimise the impact these route changes will have on our customers. The alterations we have put in place are the most efficient routes to minimise the disruption caused.

“We would like to wish everyone taking part good luck, and we encourage all our customers to check details before travelling.”
