Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to route diversions as a result of roadworks taking place in Llanrumney.

Services 49 and 50 will see diversions on Saturday 12 November from 08:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday 13 November from 09:00 to 20:00.

On Saturday 12 November the roundabout near the Countisbury Avenue shops will be closed on the eastern side between Countisbury Avenue and Mount Pleasant Avenue. Buses will only serve Llanrumney Avenue, Burnham Avenue (as far as Ball Road) and Ball Road in both directions. Burnham Avenue from bottom shops to Countisbury Avenue top shops will not be served in both directions.

Buses will run outbound as either a service 49 or 50 vehicle, and then change for the inbound journey to the alternate service, i.e. 49 outbound will return as a 50 inbound; 50 outbound will return as a 49 inbound.

On Sunday 13 November the roundabout near the Countisbury Avenue shops will be closed on the southern and western sides between Llanrumney Avenue, Burnham Avenue and Mount Pleasant Avenue. Buses will only serve Ball Road, Burnham Avenue (from bottom shops to Countisbury Avenue), Countisbury Avenue, Mount Pleasant Avenue and Newport Road in both directions.

Llanrumney Avenue (from Ball Road junction to the roundabout) and Burnham Avenue (between the roundabout and the Ball Road junction) will not be served in both directions.

Buses will run outbound as either a service 49 or 50, and then change for the inbound journey to the alternate service.

Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, reminds customers to plan their journeys before travelling.

He said: “We are set to divert some bus routes as a result of essential road resurfacing that will be taking place in Llanrumney over the course of this weekend. We will do everything possible to minimise the impact these route changes will have on our customers.  The alterations we have put in place are the shortest, and most efficient routes to minimise the disruption caused.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these diversions may cause and we would encourage all our customers to check details before travelling.”
