Cardiff Bus has unveiled its summer service plans which launch Thursday 2nd June.
For days out in Cardiff Bay, there will be additional Baycar services which will run every 15 minutes, 7 days a week, from 5th June until 3 September.
The increased services will allow passengers easy travel to enjoy all that the Bay has to offer including boat rides, great food and drinks in the variety of cafes and restaurants, Techniquest, the Wales Millennium Centre, The Norwegian Church, Senedd and much more. The service will also allow passengers ease of access to the popular Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival which will be returning to Roald Dahl Plass from 1 – 3 July.
To enjoy the friendly and relaxing atmosphere and cafés at Penarth Pier, there will be a special summer service from Kingsway (stop GR) or St Mary Street (Wyndham Arcade stop JE) in Cardiff city centre running daily from 2 June – 4 September, and 10, 11, 17 & 18 September. The summer bus will stop outside Penarth Pier Pavilion so you can enjoy a stroll along the promenade or wander up the hill to discover the tranquillity of the flower gardens of Alexandra Park and Windsor Gardens.
From the end of July until 18th September, this service will be run by an open top bus so that you can take in uninterrupted views during your journey in the sunshine.
For those looking for a traditional day at the seaside, the operator will be running its Route 95 service to Barry Island where passengers can enjoy sandy beaches and family amusements, discover the places featured in the hit TV show Gavin and Stacey or relax in one of the many cafés and restaurants.
The operator has also considered that a family day out can become costly, so is offering a range of value tickets, including a reduced price on family tickets during weekends and school holidays. The ticket will cost £5.50 in Cardiff and Penarth, and £8 to Barry.
