Cardiff Metropolitan University and Cardiff Met Students’ Union has been celebrating its latest student cohort at the sixth annual Cardiff Met Award ceremony.

Now in its sixth year, the Award has seen its highest number of applicants ever. Students from all year and course groups can be registered, through their own application, then being guided on a journey of recorded work experience, training & development and reflection.

As part of the Award, students undertake work experience within their chosen industry, as well as volunteering and Students’ Union representation work. This year alone, over 4000 hours of work experience has been logged, much of which has been undertaken within the local Cardiff community.

The Award is designed to complement the formal University education experience, showing a commitment to self-development and better equipping the students for future employment.

Mike Davies, Cardiff Met Students’ Union Chief Executive said:

“The Cardiff Met Award is one of our flagship initiatives that year on year is engaging more students, enhancing their personal development and their employability. It is an award that can help them both in their future careers and lives and we are proud to play this important part in their time here at Cardiff Met University.”
