Cardiff-based Vargo Recruitment has appointed Tom Miller as its new Associate Director.

[aoa id=”1″]As Associate Director, Tom will predominantly focus on Executive and C-Suite appointments as well as other leadership and management positions. Tom will also take a leading role in the company’s strategy as it looks to provide clients with a more holistic approach to talent attraction, supporting a wider recruitment strategy built around an established employer brand.  [/aoa]

The 28-year-old spent his early career in finance recruitment, before taking a role at GoCompare as its Head of Talent Acquisition. There, Tom built an internal recruitment function from scratch and was responsible for delivering the end-to-end recruitment strategy for the publicly traded company.

Speaking of the appointment, Founder of Vargo Recruitment, Chris Chugg said

“Tom is a highly experienced and focused recruiter who has built talented teams across a wide range of sectors. He excels at stakeholder management, be it with smaller businesses or household names, and has already proven himself to be hugely valuable to the company.

“We have some exciting plans for Vargo that will really set us apart as we continue to grow and diversify our service offering. Tom’s support, vision and leadership are vital to these plans as we look to deliver a modern, effective solution to the talent attraction problem. We firmly believe that our unique approach will help companies solve the skills challenges of the future.”

Vargo was founded in 2016 by Christopher Chugg, a consultant who has worked in the industry for over ten years, recruiting across a range of sectors and business sizes, from steadfast FTSE 100 companies to burgeoning SMEs.

Speaking of his appointment, Tom said he’s excited to be taking a leading role in Vargo’s ambitious plans: “I’m delighted to have joined the team at Vargo and to continue to support the company as it grows.

“There’s a lot in the pipeline for Vargo, and with Brexit and the widely reported skills shortage set to hit several sectors in the coming years, businesses will need something more than traditional recruitment methods if they want to differentiate from their competitors and attract the brightest talent. We aim to be known as the company that can solve these challenges, and with the fantastic team that Chris has built, I’m confident we can meet that target.”
