This year teams ran in a relay format through the main Caerphilly Big Cheese site, over the bridge to the Castle’s rear entrance and back to the main site.

Thousands of visitors watched the whole of the race from the event site cheered on this year’s competitors.

CCBC presenter Ed Petrie, from the All Over the Place TV show, was also joined with fellow BBC colleagues who also took on this year’s race.

No Great Cheese Race would be without traditional cheese stretchers adorned with replica cheese truckles, which were passed between team members as they ran their lap.
