A man has been jailed after assaulting an emergency services worker.

Roland Michael Doano, 47, of no fixed abode, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court last week, Friday 16 January, charged with assaulting a police officer.

On 15 January, officers attended the bus station in Bangor following reports of altercation.

Doano was arrested and taken to custody by officers where he became aggressive and kicked an officer to the chest.

He admitted the offence and was jailed for 16 weeks.

District Inspector Jamie Owens said: “Violence against emergency workers is completely unacceptable, and we will never tolerate it here in Gwynedd.

“Our officers come to work each day to keep the public safe, and they deserve to carry out their duties without fear of assault.

“We will continue to take robust action against anyone who threatens the safety of our officers or the wider community.”
