South Wales Police is investigating a road traffic collision between a black Renault Clio and a bicycle which occurred at the junction of Penhill Road (A4119) and Conway Road in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday (April 16th).

As a result of the collision the 36 year-old male cyclist was taken to the University Hospital of Wales by ambulance where he is being treated for injuries which are described as not life-threatening.

The 31 year-old male driver of the car was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
