An epic Dino Takeover is about to descend on Mermaid Quay this half term.

From 23rd of March to 14th  of April there will be plenty of fun for the whole family to enjoy at the quayside. Visitors will encounter lifelike dinosaurs and have the opportunity to take part in free dino themed activities, enjoy jam packed event days, and get involved in the onsite colouring competition and Dino Discovery Trail.

On Tuesday 2nd of April, and Wednesday 3rd of April, visitors will have the chance to meet and greet Razor the Velociraptor, Nibbles the baby Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Boulder the Baby Ankylosaurus, as they make special appearances throughout the day.

In addition to the meet and greet sessions, on Thursday 4th of April and Friday 5th of April, from 12pm to 4pm, young aspiring palaeontologists can participate in the Palaeontology School, where they’ll dig for fossils and dino bones in a sand pit. Additionally, children can get creative with Roarsome Rocks, crafting realistic fossils using air drying clay and mini dinosaurs.

Little ones can also take part in the Dino Discovery Trail where the whole family can go on a Jurassic adventure to spot dinosaur-themed posters throughout Mermaid Quay. Each poster features fascinating dinosaur facts, and completed trail sheets offer the chance to win a Meal Deal Voucher for four people at Magic Wrap Mermaid Quay. There’s also the chance to win a £10 Cadwaladers voucher with the dinosaur themed colouring competition.

Becky Jones, Marketing Manager at Mermaid Quay, said: “We are delighted to have a jam packed half term planned at Mermaid Quay. The Dino takeover will provide fun for the entire family and we hope that the free of charge activities we have planned will provide plenty of entertainment for little ones during the school break.”
