Cardiff-based aluminium fabricators, Dudley’s Aluminium continues to strengthen its design team, welcoming a new CAD technician to its team

Earlier this year, John Curley joined the Cardiff team, which designs and manufactures curtain wall screens for large construction projects including Cardiff Central Square One, Two and Three. In his previous role, John gained invaluable experience as an architectural technician.

Having worked for over 20 years in the construction industry and with a degree in architectural technology, John brings exceptional knowledge and practice to the team. John has a particular insight into the residential sector, having worked on both large and small projects.

As part of his new role, John is responsible for turning an architect’s drawings and requirements into reality, setting out the components and aluminium panels that will make up the curtain walling frames Dudley’s specialises in.

John said: “I am very proud to support Dudley’s Aluminium in my new role. They are a small company but have worked on big project developments throughout South Wales and beyond.

“One of the main reasons I was intrigued by the company and this role, was because of Dudley’s involvement throughout the design and manufacturing process of the product. As everything is in-house, communication is straightforward and everyone is part of the wider process, creating a close-knitted atmosphere to work in.”

Since starting his new role, John has been working on both the Research and Development facility for GKN Aerospace in Bristol as well as a new home for the School of Architecture and Built Environment building at the University of Wolverhampton.

Colin Shorney, managing director at Dudley’s Aluminium, said: “We are thrilled to have John join us. With his wealth of experience and expertise, he has quickly become a great asset to the team, which has already come to light during his involvement in one of our more recent projects for the University of Wolverhampton.”

Dudley’s Aluminium offers full in-house design and production facilities. The aluminium fabricator has worked on a multitude of projects across the UK and Channel Islands, specialising in education, health, commercial, retail and defence industries.
